Director David Ayer continues to pave the way for the hypothetical arrival of his final version of Suicide Squad, now by sharing an unpublished image and scene of Jared Leto’s Joker.
After the victory of Zack Snyder and his legion of fans, in relation to the final version of Justice League, many other voices have called for the cut of the director of Suicide Squad, which supposedly also left out a lot of unseen material that would have to change much of the montage that hit theaters. David Ayer is not an enemy of the idea and that is why everyone who has an opportunity drives the campaign.
His latest move came through his Instagram account and stories in which he shared a black and white image of the Joker and a screenshot from a script page. Both belong to a deleted scene that we could see in the trailers, but not in the final version.
Earlier, the existence of this scene had been commented on, but it is not until now that we can confirm it in the form of a script. This is a time during the final battle where the suicide team approaches Enchantress and the Joker appears as an ally of his.
Supposedly at that time, Harley Quinn prefers to stand next to the team, rather than return with his “Puddin” and betray his new family. This act would bring results and would change the concept of the final sequence in which the Joker rescues Harley from the maximum-security prison. While the movie cut the Prince of Crime would come there to rescue her, in David Ayer’s version he would go for her to kidnap her and make her pay for her treason.
David Ayer approved via Twitter that the scene contained in the script was filmed and edited without any complications and added: “of course you are not allowed to see it.”
To date, Warner has not stated anything about the so-called Yesterday’s Cut, but fans have managed to make it a trend through social networks, so it would not be unreasonable to think that such a version will see the light at some point.
