There’s no doubt that Dr. Ranaan is incredibly passionate about his field of specialization. Periodontology as a whole focuses mainly on the treatment and prevention of gum-related diseases and infections. One of the many reasons that led Dr. Ranaan to pursue this specialized field of dentistry was the lack of awareness about gum-related diseases amongst the masses. For these reasons and many more, he is dedicated to educating, preventing, treating, and diagnosing patients suffering from the effects of periodontal disease.
Over the years, Dr. Ranaan has thoroughly researched the effects of poor oral hygiene on one’s overall medical condition. Periodontitis is reported to be associated with heart disease as patients suffering from it appear to have increased thickness in the blood vessels of their neck. Dr. Ranaan is well aware of the established connection between the overall health of a patient to his oral hygiene, which is also why he strongly believes in taking a holistic approach in his treatment procedures.
In addition to that, Dr. Ranaan has also conducted and published clinical and scientific research in bone regeneration, stem cell research and, implants dentistry. Whilst at Harvard, he collaborated with Dr. Kevin Guze and developed an innovative lateral window graft-less sinus lift technique.
Dr. Justin Ranaan’s contribution to the scientific field garnered considerable praise and earned him various accolades coming from different quarters. His research with Dr. Kevin Guze was nominated for the 2015 Balint-Orban Memorial Prize by the American Academy of Periodontology. Moreover, another one of his researches was selected in 2016 by the Academy of Osseointegration for Implant Dentistry Innovation.
Dr. Ranaan lectures on a national as well as international level actively and is a part of many professional associations. His enthusiasm to continue educating himself about the constantly evolving field of Periodontology is what drives him to maintain a high standard of care in dental treatment.
