NBC’s hit athletic series The Titan Games will be back for its second season. The series was fortunate enough to have completed the production before coronavirus lockdown started affecting many upcoming Shows and Movies.
The release is scheduled to be out on May 25th, 2020, Monday, the network had announced. Unfortunately, another of NBC’s Summer Athletic competition show titled American Ninja Warrior could not get completed as the production got halted by the lockdown.
The series produced by Dwayne Johnson will be hosted by him only. It will premiere with a couple of hours long episode at 8 p.m. ET/PT. After that, the series will be aired regularly from 8-9 p.m. timeslot starting from 1st June 2020.
What is the show about?
In the show, Johnson designs some head-to-head, epic challenges that he gives to people and makes them compete against each other. Through these challenges, their Mind, body, and heart are tested.
The second season will have everyday heroes including teachers, nurses, doctors, and veterans who will compete against world-class professional athletes (which will be soon announced) in the Titan Arena. Winners will be advancing to the Challenge of Mt. Olympus, the athletic test for speed, strength, endurance, and agility.
The first season of The Titan Games secured a rating of 1.7 in adults 18-49. There were 6.0 million overall viewers in Live + Seven Day Nielsens. The rating for the Jan 3rd, 2019 premiere has reached 3.8 in 18-49 and viewership has reached 10.5 million.
The show has been produced by A Smith & Co. Productions with Universal Television Alternative Studio and also, Seven Bucks Productions. Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, Arthur Smith, Hiram Garcia, David Friedman, Brian Gewirtz, and Anthony Storm will be the executive producers of the series.
