The Movie premiered on June 4th, 2010, and was a hit back then. 10 years later, I watched the movie again, as it is now airing on Netflix, and the experience is still the same. Sometimes, we forget what a piece of wonder a movie is until we re-watch it.
For starters, Rose Byrne played Aldous Snow’s girlfriend and the character literally deserved a spin-off of her own had the movie performed very well in the Box Office. Unfortunately, Shrek Forever After was also released at that time and gave a tough competition to it.
And how can we remember the Ridiculous Musician Jackie (Rose Byrne) and not talk about the movie’s soundtrack? Without a doubt, it is amazing and also available on Spotify.
There were so many familiar faces in the movie, which we have seen in these 10 years, including Elisabeth Moss, Jake Johnson, Aziz Ansari, Ellie Kemper, Kristen Schaal, and Nick Kroll. We can also see Tom Felton making a quick appearance on the show.
Jonah’s character even makes a Harry Potter reference and Felton wasn’t amused. Isn’t that a hilarious Cameo? Talking about Cameo, Kristen Bell was there in it too!! The character of Sergio played by Diddy is so amazing.
It’s sad that he wasn’t nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Academy award in 2011 but hey, Jonah Hill was.
The movie wasn’t just funny. There were scenes of serious emotional moments like the part where Jackie tells Aldous their son isn’t his. But the funny scenes were too much to focus on the sad parts.
Like the situation where a threesome was discussed or that it actually happens? The best part was when Aldous jumps off the roof of the hotel and lands on the pool and breaks his arm in the process.
