Officer Francisco Garcia, 31 involved in a fight with a bystander, and the video went viral. A former neighbor of him has seen the video and was shocked seeing it.
She said that he lived there with his kids and he was a nice guy who would say ‘hi’ to her mom.
The neighbor who lives on the same floor as his kids said that she did not recognize him when she first saw the picture and later she was shocked because he was not seen behaving like this before and also because he has two kids.
In the viral video of Garcia, we could see him breaking away from the police and approached the witness named Donni Wright who was heading towards the police.
He took his taser and told the witness to move back and not to flex in an aggressive manner. Garcia then started to beat, punch, and slap him in the head.
After this incident, the police department has made Garcia do desk duty and got back hi shield and gun while they investigate the fight.
Another neighbor said that Garcia’s children and their mother are still residing in the Queen’s house, but the officer has moved since then.
Garcia’s involvement in a social distancing arrest in the East Village on Saturday and his fight with the bystander has shocked many including his neighbors who did not see this behavior of him before.
This violence of him put his job at risk. We do not know the real reason behind this behavior of the cop and the fight is being investigated by the NYPD.
