‘Lucifer’ Season 5: Netflix Release Date & What We Know So Far

Lucifer is an American tv series that first premiered on Fox on January 25, 2016.

The series is based on the comic book character from the same name from DC universe comic book “the sandman”. The character was created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Keith, and Mike Dringenberg.

Fox had canceled Lucifer after the 3rd season. But then Netflix stepped in and acquired its rights. It renewed the series for a fourth and then a fifth season.

Ever since the fourth season ended, fans were excited to see what they are getting in the fifth season. But all good things finally come to an end. As per the reports, season 5 could be the last and final season of this series.

Release date:

The production of Lucifer is in full swing. So there’s no reason not to expect Lucifer to premier in 2020. Going by the reports, the first half of the season could premier in summer 2020 while the second half is forecasted to arrive in fall 2020.

Many reports were claiming that part 1 will be added to Netflix in May 2020. However, the may 2020 list has been unveiled and it doesn’t feature in it.

So it is expected that the first part might premiere somewhere in June or July 2020. We will update you once the release date is official.

Plot details:

The fourth season of the series ended on a tough cliffhanger. Viewers finally came to understand that Lucifer said for years because he loves LAPD detective Chloe Decker.

He was sent to hell for cursed men by the brutality of the series. Lucifer did it one more time, but this time, it was not out of cowardliness.

This time, it was to save Chloe and the Earth from the angry demons who were going too long without a rule.

There currently have been no reports on the expected story of season 5, so it is all set for speculation. It is already known that Lucifer will come to hell on his will. There remains a possibility that it will suit the procedural style of the series.

Season 5 episodes count:

Initially, it also meant to be a 10 episodes season, but given its the final season to such a grand series, Netflix gave an extended order so it will consist of 2 parts of 8 episodes each. Both parts are expected to release with some time gap.

What after season 5?

Although it’s official that it’s going to be the final season of Lucifer, talks are already in the town that Netflix and Warner Bros are already in talks to take the series beyond 5 seasons.

According to some reports, they have even signed the director. After all, it seems wise not to end such a popular series in just 5 seasons. Rest, we will know as time goes by.

To know more, catch Lucifer season 5 when on Netflix. We will let you know when it finally premieres. Till then, stay tuned for more such updates.
