Gauri Lankesh, the senior journalist shot dead at her Bengaluru residence
50 yrs old Ms. Gauri Lankesh was the editor of Kannada tabloid “Gauri Lankesh Patrike” by profession. As police said, the senior journalist is shot dead at her home entrance when she was about to unlock the gate at around 7.45 pm yesterday. She was staying alone in her home. The assailants shot her with small pistol or revolver. Police told that injuries found on her head and chest.
Neighbours found her with a pool of blood on her patio. After reaching police found four bullets from her body that leads to suspect that four rounds of shot were fired at her.
Some sources say that Gauri was followed by two suspicious men two-weeks ago that she noticed at Gandhi Bazar. Again last week two men followed her from office to her home. She did not put much attention into this matter and just normally informed to her mother, Indira. Her mother stayed with her younger daughter Kavita Lankesh, a film director.
The site behind Gauri’s home is vacant as well as bushy. So police suspect that the murderer might have taken this place as an advantage to hide.
