IIT Delhi secured its position among three Indian Institute on Global top 200 lists

IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, and IISc on top among Global top 200 universities, Quacquarelli Symonds world university ranking report says. This year for the first time IIT Delhi entered top 500 group. Along with IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay and IISc Bangalore are the two more Indian Institutes among world’s top 200 universities. IIT Delhi is in 172 world rank, IIT Bombay rank rose to 179  whereas IISc falls to 190.

As per the report of the latest edition of Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay and Indian Institute of Science(IISc), Bangalore bagged their position among global top 200 universities. This year there are total 20 Indian Insitute, which is six more than last year.

With the top positioning of this three Indian Institute among world’s top 200 universities, India has owned his pride. For the first time, IIT Bombay climbed up to a rank of 179th from 219th last year. Similarly, IIT Delhi rose to 172nd from the 185th rank and IISc Bangalore made a downfall to 190 by 38 places.

At Quacquarelli Symonds the research director said “India is progressing in our global rankings. Five Indian universities feature among the global 100 for research indicator. However, there is still plenty of room for improvement, especially in the ‘employers reputation’ indicator, suggesting that a closer collaboration between the corporate world and the leading universities is essential.”

This year for the first time IIT Delhi replaced IISc in terms of best Indian Insitute. However, IISc is among world’s best six Indian Institutes. Six new universities are added this year to the list of Indian Institutes. The names of the universities are Jadavpur University, University of Hyderabad, Anna University, Aligarh Muslim University and Birla Institute of Technology and Science.

For six consecutive years, The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) was on the top list of World’s best universities. Whereas Stanford University was world’s second best and Harvard University was world’s third best university.
