Veteran Filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao is No More:  It’s a Huge Loss for Telugu Film Industry

Telugu Film Maker and Former Union Ministry of Coal and Mines Dasari Narayana Rao passes away on Tuesday evening. The 75-year-old director-producer-actor died after a prolonged illness due to respiratory problems and kidney failure.

Veteran Filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao is No More

Since the few months, Dasari had been facing health related issues and admitted in KIMS hospital in January this year. He had discharged after undergoing a surgery and treatment for two months.

Andhra Pradesh Cheif Ministry Chandra Babu Naidu and Film stars of Telugu including Chiranjeevi, Mohan Babu, Jayasudha, Allu Aravind, Murali Mohan and others had visited the hospital to enquiry about his health at that time.

However, He has again admitted to a private hospital in Secunderabad four days ago with complaints of renal disorders and was operated upon. He condition turned into critical and had suffered multiple organ failures on Tuesday and he last breathed at 7 pm.

The Telugu Film Industry will remain shut on Wednesday as a sign of respect to Dasari Narayana Rao.

Telugu Film Industry loses one of its most powerful voices

Messages of condolence were shared by the film actors Twitter. CM Chandra Babu Naidu and KCR has expressed shock over the sudden death of Dasari Narayana Rao.

Kamal Hassan remembered his moments with Dasari Narayana Rao and shared his condolence on Twitter.

Most of Telugu film actors also shared their condolence and praying for strength to their family.

He was born on 04th May 1942, in Palakollu in West Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. He had directed 151 films, produced 53 in Telugu as well as Hindi. Dasari gave many blockbusters and critically acclaimed films for Telugu Industry. He also received two National Film Awards, Four Filmfare awards, and nine Nandi Awards.

In 2000, Dasari gave an active entry in politics through Congress party. During Manmohan Singh’s Government, he became the minister of state coals and mines. He faced many allegations of irregularities for allotting coal mines for private companies. On 11 June 2013, CBI booked a case for receiving Rs. 2.25 crore from Naveen Jindal in the coal scam. Still, CBI is investigating the case.

However, He is widely respected as Guruvu Garu by everyone in the industry. His death will make an end of the era for Telugu Film Industry.
