The remake in real action of ‘Peter Pan’ that Disney prepares continues, although not much news about the project is coming out, except for the rumors that Joaquin Phoenix could play the evil Captain Hook and Margot Robbie as Tinkerbell.
There is already a free adaptation of the classic story by JM Barrie this 2020, called ‘ Wendy ‘, and which will give us a more realistic view of history.
But this Disney production, which is rumored will go directly to Disney +, has already found its protagonists … and it comes with controversy since Peter Pan will be a non-Caucasian actor, different from what we are used to in the other adaptations that have had the tale.
The new adaptation of the JM Barrie classic does not have a release date yet, as it is in a very early part of the project.
Although it is rumored that its premiere could be directly on Disney + at some point in 2022, from Variety they affirm that the film will be released in theaters. The official synopsis of ‘Peter and Wendy’ has not yet been shown, but since Disney, they are betting on a ‘reinterpretation’ of the story.
The plot of the classic ‘Peter Pan’ was as follows: Wendy and her brothers will experience fantastic adventures when Peter Pan, the hero of their stories, guides them to the magical world of Neverland with his inseparable Tinkerbell.
On their journey to “the second star to the right”, they will meet Peter’s secret lair and the mischievous Lost Children and will have to face the famous Captain Hook and his pirates.
In this new adaptation, Peter Pan will be played by a non-Caucasian actor, as the rest of the adaptations of the story have us used to.
In this case, it will be the boy Alexandar Molony who will be in charge of giving life to young Peter.
Molony has already collaborated with Disney voicing the protagonist of ‘Claude’, a Disney series in the United Kingdom, which introduces us to Claude, a brave and enthusiastic dog that everyone loves, and his faithful companion Mr. Bobblysock.
