The showrunner of Supernatural, Andrew Dabb, has been hired to oversee the first season of the series based on Resident Evil from Netflix and so commented:
“Resident Evil is my favorite game of all time,” Dabb said. “I am excited to tell a new part in this ridiculous story and bring the first Resident Evil series to Netflix lovers around the world. For all kinds of Resident Evil fans, including those who are accompanying us for the first time, the series will be filled with lots of old friends and some very bloody and crazy stuff that people have never seen ago.”
Andrew Dabb is expected to work on Resident Evil once the final season of Supernatural The CW is complete. He will also serve in executive production alongside Robert Kulzer, Oliver Perpin and Mary Lea Sutton of Constantine Film. Bronwen Hughes is set to direct the first two episodes.
Synopsis of the series
Netflix will tell its new Resident Evil story in two timelines. In the first, sisters Jade and Billie Wesker, 14, move to New Raccoon City. A corporate city, which they arrive at just as their teens were in full swing. But the more time they give there, the more they realize that the city is more than it seems and that their father may be hiding dark secrets. Secrets that could end the universe.
In the second timeline, more than 15 years into the future, we see only 15 million people on Earth. And more than 6 billion monsters: people & animals affected by the T virus. Jade, 30, is fighting to survive in this new world as the secrets of her past, about her sister, her father and herself, proceed to haunt her.
As far as we know, Johannes Roberts’ big-screen reboot of Resident Evil (47m) is still in development but has not been mentioned here. So we don’t know if they will standardize the stories on Netflix and the movies.
