The latest show, The Gilded Age, from the creator of Downtown Abbey, Julian Fellowes is now all set to be carried to HBO with an amazing cast crew that they’ve collected out heavenly.
The upcoming HBO drama follows the mega-rich communities of 1882 New York. If you are a lover of a historical drama set in lavish and extravagant setting, then this is going to prove a hell override for you. Here’s everything you need to know about the show.
The Gilded was first discussed by Fellowes in a 2015 interview with The Mail on Sunday and the NBC has started developing the series back in 2012. It was initially confirmed to air on NBC in 2018.
Fellowes said in the interview, “To write the Gilded Age is the fulfillment of a personal drama.” Back last year in 2019, it was revealed that the show has been taken up by HBO and will be released by it in a ten-episode long series.

HBO confirmed that The Good Fight’s Christine Baranski will star as an Aristocrat Agnes Van Rhijn. Sex and the City’s Cynthia Nixon will turn to portray Ada Brook, Agnes’s less well-off sister.
Amanda Peet from Togetherness and Morgan Spector from Boardwalk Empire will also join them in the series. They will play the role of a husband-wife couple, Bertha Russell and George Russell.
Some sources also say that Maggie Smith’s Violet Crawley, the Dowager Countess of Grantham will also pop in the show for some special appearances.
ABOUT THE STORY
The Gilded Age is said to be an unmistakably urban set in the city of New York. As the name suggests, the story of the series will occur in the time known as The Gilded Age, the age which is said to have been started not long after the Civil War period and saw the economy of the Northern Blast.
The Gilded Age was the age when immense economic changes were taking place in the United States when new money and old money was a major concept.
The story in the new HBO show is of an orphan girl, Marian Brook who moves to New York with her aunts and finds herself in a group of people who are rich yet super crazy.
