The sixth and final season of the hit series History will premiere later this year 2020.
At the end of this year, 2020 Vikings come to an end after six seasons. There have been unexpected and tragic deaths, great battles and love affairs worthy of the Vikings. But many people still wonder how it is possible that Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) and Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) had separated so soon, thus extending their relationship for more seasons.
In a recent interview with Cinemablend, the creator of the hit series History, Michael Hirst, wanted to explain and defend his decision to end Ragnar and Lagertha’s marriage soon by asking if he would have liked to extend it a little more:
“No. The starting point for ‘Vikings’ was a young farmer, happily married, with children, but frustrated by his lack of opportunities to navigate and explore other lands in western Scandinavia. That’s when we first meet him. And soon, his ambitions begin to unfold, but they bring with them inevitable and sometimes dire consequences”.
“He couldn’t have spent more time with Ragnar and Lagertha, even at the moment, the story began. Their idyllic rural and domestic moment was over! It is not unusual to start a series at a turning point and that is what I did. The world was about to change and Ragnar and Lagertha changed with it”.
For now, it only remains to wait for the last round of 10 episodes of the sixth season of Vikings that is expected to premiere at the end of this year 2020 and with the return of some of the original characters of the series.
