We are a quarter away from saying goodbye to 2019. Soon, there will be having several holidays & we will be celebrating festivals such as Homecoming, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. So, for gamers like me, game developers are releasing games for different platforms.

With the release of new games in the market, gaming consoles such as Xbox one X will be put to the test. So, it means, in the coming days, Microsoft’s XBOX One X will be competing along with the PlayStation 4 of Sony. Now, when it comes down to this post, here I will help you in deciding related to the console you should purchase or whether you should upgrade to other consoles.

Most Powerful Console

First & Foremost, let’s find out which gaming console is powerful enough to handle heavier games. No one play games when there is a lag in the game.

Interested, right?

Well, after playing games on both Xbox One X & PlayStation 4 Pro, one this I can say, in terms of raw performance, Xbox one X clearly beats PS4.

In fact, I haven’t seen a powerful console like the X edition of Xbox One.  As of now, I don’t think any other gaming console will be able to beat the performance of PS4.

However, in the future, this may change after the release of PlayStation 5. Coming back to the Xbox One X, it allows you to play games at true 4K, Moreover, there is a feature that I miss a lot in PS4. Well, the feature is Ultra HD Blu-Ray drive. It allows me to watch 4K blue-rays of my choice.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

Now, when it comes down to the subscription services, both Xbox & PlayStation have their own sets of services. These subscription services are quite similar to the way you download movies & Tv shows on Netflix. However, the main difference between them is here you download games instead of any media.

So, it means you can play any game you want without purchasing them.

Now, If I compare the services provided by Sony & Microsoft, the only thing that I will say is Xbox Game pass is way better than the PlayStation Plus subscription service by PlayStation Plus.

Besides, if you purchase, the ultimate edition of Xbox game pass than you get some additional offers that you never imagined before.

Wanna know what you’ll get?

Well, at $15/month, you will get a game pass, Microsoft live with Gold. So, as a gold subscriber, you will be eligible to get 4 paid games in a month.

Isn’t Great? Get more by paying less via Xbox Game pass Ultimate.

Besides, if you are a PlayStation Plus member than unfortunately, you get only two games along with the subscription.

So, yeah, I can say that’s why the subscription service of Xbox is way better than that of Sony.

Exclusive Games

One of the main reasons behind the competition between Xbox & PS4 is the type of game that you love to play. All comes down to your preference.

Which game do you like?

If you love to play games like God of War & Uncharted then, I suggest you go for the PlayStation gaming console.

And if you want to play games such as Gears of War, & Halo that go for Xbox console. Now, when I talk about the exclusivity of the game, PlayStation defeats Xbox by way long mark.

Besides, if you want to buy PlayStation 4 Pro & still want to play Xbox games than there is one way for you to do so.

Wondering how?

Well, purchase these games from steam & play them on your PC. So, in this way, you can play exclusive Xbox games without spending money in the purchase of Xbox.

Excellent Studios

From the last couple of years, Microsoft has partnered with several gaming studios to release some of the exclusive games for the Xbox consoles. Well, as compared to Sony, Microsoft has partnered with some of the best game development studios from the RPG genre of the games. The list of studios partnered with Microsoft includes Obsidian Entertainment, Playground Games and Ninja Theory. Here is the list of popular games that released under that banner of Microsoft:

  • Compulsion Games (We Happy Few)
  • The Initiative (Brand new studio)
  • Ninja Theory (Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice)
  • Double Fine (Psychonauts 2)
  • inXile Entertainment (Wasteland 2)
  • Obsidian Entertainment (Pillars of Eternity)
  • Undead Labs (State of Decay)
  • Playground Games (Forza Horizon)
  • Rare (Sea of Thieves)
  • 343 Industries (Halo)
  • Mojang (Minecraft)
  • Turn 10 Studios (Forza Motorsport)
  • The Coalition (Gears 5)
  • Age Of Empires Studio (Age of Empires)

Backward Compatibility

One feature that I really miss in PlayStation is the backward compatibility. In fact, as compared to Sony, Microsoft has done a very good job by making Xbox One compatible with the older versions of the console.

Yeah! It’s true. Xbox one is truly compatible with devices such as Xbox & Xbox 360. So, this way, you can get full use of Xbox One gaming console. Another cool thing that Microsoft has done with the Xbox One, that Sony hasn’t even really dipped its toes into, is backward compatibility. Microsoft has gone above and beyond in this regard, making a ton of older Xbox and Xbox 360 games compatible with the Xbox One.

Final Words

After battling out in the five different categories, all in all, I would conclude that Xbox beats PlayStation in several aspects of gaming. In fact, Xbox has way better features than any other gaming console in the market.

Besides, that’s what a gamer wants, isn’t it? Apart from the user interface, Xbox beats PlayStation in most of the scenarios. However, if you still want to play exclusive games of both platform than go for PlayStation & a PC. This way you will be able to play exclusive Sony games on your PlayStation & Xbox games on your Microsoft PC.

That’s all for now. If you are still confused on which console to buy or still have any questions regarding Xbox one & PS4 than do let me know via the comments section.
